History of the Breast Cancer Research Laboratory
The Breast Cancer Research Laboratory at the Michigan Cancer Foundation in 1975 (Detroit, Michigan).
The Breast Cancer Research Laboratory (BCRL) began in 1973 as a small component of the department of Biology at the Michigan Cancer Foundation in Detroit. That same year Dr. Jose Russo was appointed Chief of Experimental Pathology, and in 1980, he became Member and Chairman of the Foundation’s Department of Pathology, as well as Clinical Associate Professor of Pathology at Wayne State University Medical School, where he served until 1991.
